🌺 Things to Do

Make the Most of Your Hawaii Dance Expo Experience

One of the things that makes Hawaii Dance Expo unique is that you're not spending the entire weekend inside a ballroom.

We've intentionally designed our five nights and four days schedule to give you time to experience both world-class dancing and the beauty of Hawaiʻi.

Whether it's relaxing on the beach, enjoying local food, shopping, sightseeing, or simply spending time with new friends, we encourage you to experience the aloha spirit while you're here.

Our suggested activities are designed to fit before, between, and after your Hawaii Dance Expo schedule, so you won't miss the workshops, performances, socials, or special events that make this festival so memorable.

🌴 Thursday – Arrival, Bootcamps & Pre-Party

Welcome to Hawaiʻi!

After checking into your hotel, make your way to Paradise Tango for our Fundamentals & Foundational Bootcampsfrom 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

After the bootcamps, grab dinner, relax, and get ready for the official Hawaii Dance Expo Pre-Party at The District Nightclub from 8:00 PM to 2:00 AM.

It's the perfect opportunity to meet dancers from around the world before the weekend officially begins.

💃 Friday & Saturday – Dance, Explore & Dance Again

Workshops are held from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM at Aloha Dancesport Center.

During your lunch break or free time, explore attractions just minutes from the venue.

  • ☕ Local cafés and coffee shops

  • 🍽 Hawaiian, Japanese, Korean, Filipino, and other local restaurants

  • 🛒 Target, Walmart, Don Quijote, and convenience stores for anything you may need

These locations are close enough that you can enjoy your free time and still return comfortably for your next workshop.

🌺 Sunday – Celebrate the Final Full Day

Sunday is your final full day at Aloha Dancesport Center.

Enjoy another day of workshops, reconnect with friends, and take a few moments to appreciate everything you've experienced throughout the weekend.

If you have a little extra time, visit Ala Moana Beach Park, take a walk through Waikīkī, or pick up a few Hawaiian souvenirs before returning for our final evening of dancing and the Jack & Jill Competition.

🏖 Monday – Our Beach Party Tradition

Don't rush to the airport just yet!

One of the traditions that makes Hawaii Dance Expo special is our Monday Beach Party & Potluck from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

Relax by the ocean, swim, dance, enjoy Hawaiian food, meet new friends, and celebrate an unforgettable weekend together.

Many attendees tell us this is one of their favorite parts of the entire festival because it gives everyone a chance to simply enjoy Hawaiʻi together outside the ballroom.

Later that evening, join us for our final workshops and one last social dance before saying Aloha until next year.

🌺 Staying a Little Longer?

If you're extending your vacation, Oʻahu offers incredible experiences just beyond the festival.

Some of our favorites include:

  • Pearl Harbor National Memorial

  • Diamond Head

  • Hanauma Bay

  • North Shore

  • Kualoa Ranch

  • Waikīkī Beach

  • International Market Place

  • Ala Moana Center

Whether you stay one extra day or an entire week, we encourage you to enjoy everything Hawaiʻi has to offer.

❤️ More Than a Dance Festival

At Hawaii Dance Expo, we hope you leave with much more than new dance moves.

We hope you leave with new friendships, unforgettable memories, a deeper appreciation for Hawaiian culture, and the true spirit of Aloha.

Dance.
Laugh.
Explore.
Connect.

Then come back and dance some more.

Mahalo for being part of the Hawaii Dance Expo family. We look forward to welcoming you to Honolulu! 🌺
